What is Mindful Fitness?
Focus. Awareness. Understanding. Growth. These qualities are often emphasized in yoga classes. At Experience Yoga, we emphasize them in every class.
If you are looking for more physically intense classes and want to get stronger, more flexible, and/or improve your endurance, we have plenty of class options for you to choose from. Some are highlighted below (check the schedule page for current days and times these classes are offered):
Balanced Body Barre: these classes give you a full body workout that combines strength, ballet technique and Pilates movement principles. This class is for all levels. Space is limited to 12. Please sign up ahead of time online to reserve.
Energy Cycle: Motivating! Energizing! Challenging for all levels. This cycling class will improve your endurance, burn calories, and be one that keeps you MOVING! Our instructor brings a “work hard” ethic to every class. Cycling enthusiasts will enjoy the changing pace of each class while keeping the beat to great music! Bring a towel and water as you will sweat!
Pilates Core Plus & Pilates Fusion: Suitable for all levels, these classes will sculpt your physique and emphasize the importance of core strength, muscle conditioning, balance and posture. Flowing movements incorporate the principals of concentration, control, precision and breathing. Rings, bands, and weights are added to the mix for more resistance and progression.
Vinyasa & Power Yoga Classes: Typically a more vigorous practice that links yoga poses together in a flowing sequence. These classes help you build strength, stamina, and flexibility, while encouraging you to be mindful in the movement. The intensity slows down near the end of class and you are given time to relax and unwind. Expect to feel warm and sweat in these classes.
YOD Classes: YOD stands for “Your Own Determination” and is designed to hit every aspect of your physical fitness, while creating mindfulness and awareness of your body. Elements from the Baptiste Power Yoga sequence are combined with high intensity interval training (HIIT). It incorporates strength, flexibility, balance, speed, power, endurance, agility and coordination. We call this intentional exercise. Work at your own pace and make this practice your own.
